Women from around the world competed at the 61st annual Miss Universe pageant last week, where each contestant was asked to model an outfit representative of their own nation.
Giving the Victoria's Secret fashion show a run for its money, the beauty queens' oversize costumes were as clever as they were crazy.
From orange oysters to banana bras, coral reef wings and dresses made from chocolate, the 88 beauty queens that competed during the two-hour competition in Las Vegas, showed of the most bizarre 'national' costumes yet.


Alyssa Cruz Aguero, competing as Miss Guam, used her country's incredibly rare orange oysters to make a skimpy bikini bottom with matching accessories.

With only a blue train used for modesty, the contest's male MC said: 'I like what I�m seeing, and I�m not seeing much.'
Miss St. Lucia, Tara Edward, followed suit with a banana bra and matching headpiece. Banana leaves on her back and a giant corsage on her hip completed the tropical look.

Describable: Miss Nigeria (left) appeared in a colorful yellow and lime number, while Miss Peru (right) vaguely looked to the mountains and forests of her country for inspiration for her regal outfit
Meanwhile Miss Bolivia, Yessica Mouton, chose her country's national flower as a coverup. Her exotic number was blooming with the patuju, worn as a bikini with an oversize, tentacle-like headpiece. Following on with the all-natural theme, Jennifer Andrade, Miss Honduras, wore a costume weighing a hefty 50lbs. The rhinestones, seashells and pearls covering her huge Victoria's Secret-like wings, ceiling-reaching headpiece and push-up bikini, represented the coral reef off the coast of her country.

It is time to go back to school for most children their age but it seems Kendall and Kylie Jenner are too busy enjoying their glamorous lifestyles.
Instead of heading to class the double act jetted to New York where they had a very important role at Fashion Week.
The girls defied their tender teen years and looked all grown-up as they sashayed down the catwalk at the Sherri Hill show today.

Kendall, 16, and Kylie, 15, walked the runway separately before joining forces to go side by side for the show's finale.
The girls, who are a art of the Kardashian clan, struck their best poses as they indulged in some model mayhem and looked every inch the professionals.
As they strutted their stuff arm in arm, Kylie was dressed in a glittery pink prom dress, while Kendall bared her tiny midriff in a lacy white crop top and pleated baby blue tutu.




Earlier in the show Kylie had worn a blue sweetheart cut dress with fancy bow detailing on the front.
The young ladies, who walked effortlessly in their sky high heels, also did the traditional curtain call with the designer at the end of the catwalk show.
The event took place at Trump Towers and there was certainly some pressure on Kendall and Kylie as they were watched by the man himself Donald Trump.

Also in attendance at the show was Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, who posed up for a photo with Theresa Ortiz.
They then enjoyed a spot of shopping before heading out for dinner with their sister Kourtney's partner Scott Disick.
Kendall and Kylie are certainly making the most of what Fashion Week has to offer and last night attended Fashion's Night Out at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles before jetting to New York this morning.

Whitney Port added a regal edge to her latest fashion shoot for Company magazine by posing in a crown of flowers and tribal tiara of feathers.

The headwear was an apt choice as The Hills star told the magazine her ultimate style icon is Princess Diana.


As well as Princess Diana, Whitney said she is a fan of the fashion choices of Alexa Chung and Rosie Hungtington-Whiteley.

And it's not just the British celebs that Whitney emulates. She added that she was 'in awe' of the Londoners she saw walking down the street when she first came to the UK as they looked 'edgier' than L.A. girls

She said: 'When I first came to London, I was in awe of the girls walking down the street. They looked like they had just stepped out of a fashion shoot, with such a cool mix of prints, colour and texture � especially in east London.

'When you're from LA, it�s easy to get stuck in that jeans and T-shirt look, but being in the UK has encouraged me to take more risks. I've tried to be a little more street and edgier.'

The 27-year-old also admitted her favourite trend is prints and she embraced this look on her shoot with a range of tribal chic outfits.

She teamed her feathered headwear with an aztec print vest top and mustard hot pants in one shot and then wore the feathered crown with a patterned jumpsuit in another. On the magazine cover, she donned a crown of flowers with a crop top and shorts to channel a modern but romantic style.

The fashion designer's next project is to search for a future magazine cover star as she will be a judge on the new series of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model.

Whitney told Company she is looking for someone 'with a unique look' who is a hard-worker with some 'spark and energy'.

Whitney first came into the public eye when she appeared as an intern at Teen Vogue on The Hills.

She then went on to star in her own reality show, The City, when she earned a job at fashion PR company the People's Revolution in New York.

Throughout her career, she has been able to attend catwalk shows and red carpet events but she admitted it hasn't all been glamour.

She told the magazine she once had a nightmare experience as an intern during a photo shoot with an actress 'who shall remain nameless'.

'I had to massage her feet and they were gnarly! It was at the beginning of my career so I did it without saying a word. It�s just what you do, but it was gross,' she said.

Whitney added that budding interns who want to follow in her footsteps and step up the fashion career ladder should 'have a great attitude and will do whatever it takes without necessarily having to be asked'.

She said a good intern 'shouldn�t be afraid to take a stance' but should also beware of talking too much. 'There�s a balance between being involved and lingering too long. There�s a respectable distance,' she said.
